Description of Duties:

The Birth and Beyond (BABY) study is seeking a full-time Research Analyst at the post-baccalaureate level to assist with an NICHD-funded prospective longitudinal research study investigating the social and environmental determinants of Black maternal-infant health. The BABY study is a research collaboration between the University at Albany and Albany Medical Center aiming to investigate how different experiences a woman has had - including experiences of racism and discrimination - may shape Black maternal-infant health. The long-term goal of this research is to identify targets through which to promote health in generations of Black U.S. families. The Research Analyst will be working closely with the principal investigator, project coordinator, and other members of the research team.

  • Administer home- and clinic-based interviews with expectant mothers, fathers, and romantic partner.

  • Assist with data management and other administrative tasks.

  • Support with research-related administrative and other management task.

  • Attend research team meetings.

  • Assist with other research-related tasks as needed.

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in Psychology, Human Development, Neuroscience, Public Health or a related field.

  • Experience and training in research methods.

  • Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; detail oriented

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the research protocol visit.

  • Possess or successfully complete Human Subjects Protection training certification.

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or strong interest in research related to Black maternal-infant health.

  • Experience working with infants, children, and families from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds.

  • Experience using Qualtrics, SPSS, R, and/or Mplus.

  • At least 1 year of experience volunteering or working in a research lab.

  • Experience with behavioral observations, psychophysiological data collection (MindWare).

    Additional Information:

Salary Range: $41,700 - $46,100 (annual)
