Robert Half Database Analyst in Alexandria, Virginia

Description We are seeking a Database Analyst to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia. In this role, you will focus on improving the quality of data from our application and infrastructure inventory systems, collaborating closely with server administrators and application product managers. You will also assist stakeholders with data visualization, providing useful dashboards for ongoing projects. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and improving data quality from the organization's application and infrastructure inventory systems.

• Carry out data requirements gathering and data cleanup of application and server inventories.

• Collaborate with server administrators and application product managers to correlate data from siloed databases and identify any additional gaps.

• Work to improve data accuracy by manually improving data or automating data improvements where necessary.

• Assist various stakeholders with data visualization, creating consumable dashboards for ongoing projects.

• Obtain, synthesize, and integrate a broad range of data.

• Identify and track key metrics that can be used to accurately represent industry trends and/or areas of specific interest.

• Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients.

• Use graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data.

• Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions. Requirements • Proven experience as a Database Analyst or similar role for a minimum of 5 years.

• Proficient in database software such as Microsoft SQL and Oracle Database 18c.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting key metrics.

• Familiarity with data collection methods and KPI reporting.

• Proven experience with JIRA or similar project management software.

• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.

• Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
