HP Inc. Trade Compliance Specialist in Bangalore, India

Job Summary

  • This role is responsible for advanced research and interpretation of international trade laws, leading trade processes of high complexity, and driving investigations into complex trade compliance incidents. The role advises business units on compliance requirements and prepares reports for regulatory compliance. Additionally, the role participates in compliance audits, and develops training workshops for the employees.

Responsibilities

  • Drives research and interpretation of international trade laws and regulations of medium complexity including sanctions, embargoes, and customs procedures.

  • Works on trade processes and systems of high complexity by applying knowledge of international trade laws and regulations.

  • Leads investigations into trade compliance incidents, deviations, and violations and participates in implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Advises business units and global functions on trade compliance requirements and develops solutions to complex challenges.

  • Supports development of trainings and workshops for employees across departments, ensuring a strong understanding of trade compliance requirements.

  • Manages discrete trade compliance frameworks to achieve cost savings and/or risk mitigation of violations.

  • Prepares reports, applications, and other compliance materials for submission to regulatory authorities.

  • Prepares risks assessments, advisory opinions, and defense papers related to trade compliance practices.

  • Participates in high complexity trade compliance audits by gathering required documentation, generating responses, and addressing findings.

  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge, leads, and contributes to complex projects, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Law, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in trade compliance, customs / global trade, or a related field.
