REPORTS TO: Assistant General Manager

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain , and service the facility and/or the events by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • All duties pertaining to ice include building/removing ice, building/removing dashers and glass, ice maintenance schedules, edging and Zamboni duties

  • Assist with operations staff scheduling; including, but not limited to tem porary lab or calls, conversion schedules and facility cleaning schedules

  • Assures facility changeovers, readiness and smooth operation of events.

  • Coordinates the operations activities with other building departments and contractors

  • Assists Assistant General Manager in product research, tracking, and scheduling maintenance

  • A ssists IT Manager as requested in implementation of operationally related software and tracking of training programs.

  • Submit recommendations for c apital maintenance, equipment and operational budget for facility.

  • Tracking inspection, certification and permitting of all conveyances located inside the facility

  • Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions . Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints.

  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.

  • Ensures that operations department receives pertinent information for most effective use of the facility and staffing.

  • Oversee tracking building inventory and surplus/storage programs, janitorial supplies

  • Maintaining building drawings and plans

  • Responsible for the Master MSDS log in the building.

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the facility.

  • Ensure adherence to safety codes and laws.

  • Serves as Manager on Duty as required .

    Education and/or Experience          

  • Associate 's Degree with major in Management or similar field of study

  • Additional experience may be substituted for education

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Supervising or Managing in a similar facility

    Skills and Abilities  

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management

  • Ability to effectively supervise staff

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic

  • Some computer skills

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member

  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours

    Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises laborers/maintenance workers. The Operations Manager fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.  

  • Position is subject to weather and working conditions: dirty, hot, cold, wet, confined areas, or other uncomfortable places.

  • Requires dexterity to use hand tools common to plumbing industry: hammers, wrenches, metal snips, electric drills, measurement gauges, acetylene torches, pressure gauges, manometers, and other testing devices.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
