Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Florence, South Carolina area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

How you will make an impact

• Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

• Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

• Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

• Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

• Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

• Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  Requirements

• General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience

• Quality experience with QuickBooks

• Practical knowledge of Excel

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience

• Solid understanding of general ledger

• Deep understanding of bank reconciliations

• Foundational knowledge in month end closings

• 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

• Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

• Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
