Job Summary
The College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a Clinical instructor of Special Education within the Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Counselor Education. The position is 9-month, lecturer title series, non-tenure eligible. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2024.
The flagship university of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the University of Kentucky is home to more than 30,000 students and nearly 3,000 faculty members. Located in Lexington, the Horse Capital of the World, UK is a major employer in the small city of approximately 315,000.
Responsibilities for this position include:
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in special education
  • Provide service to the department, university, and profession
  • Assist with recruitment and advising of undergraduate students and serve on program committees
  • Supervise experiential learning for practicum, internship, and student teaching experiences
  • Support state and community partnerships with schools and agencies in Kentucky and nationwide
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession
  • Attendance at department, committee, and college meetings.
The qualifications for this position include at a minimum:
  • An earned doctoral in special education with a in any area of disability
  • Demonstrated success in teaching undergraduate students
Clinical instructors within the EDSCE Department are highly valued, significantly contribute to experiential teaching and service within the program, and serve in important supportive roles within the department and college.
