Responsibilities You will manage and perform work by applying knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems. You will apply knowledge of electronic theory, circuit design, and the operating characteristics of more familiar equipment to develop, test, or perform other technical work on electronic equipment. You will provide technical and programmatic advice, guidance and recommendations to management and stakeholders on critical issues. You will develop maintenance standards and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying techniques and principles of electronics and equipment for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems to interpret drawings, plans, and specifications; identifying and correcting deficiencies; performing installation, maintenance, operation, and/or testing duties. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories. This position is telework eligible as determined by the agency policy. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. Certain incentives (such as recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
