Job Summary

The A. Ray Olpin University Union provides a multitude of programs and services for the campus and surrounding community. The Union is looking for candidates to support that mission by assisting with maintenance and cleaning in the Union building. This role will also be responsible for setting up and taking down events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Clean offices, restrooms, and concourse areas using vacuums, buffers, mops, scrubbers, chemicals, cleaners, etc.

  • Prepares meeting spaces for daily events, which may include planning, set-up, and takedown.

  • Sets up chairs, tables, and other equipment or supplies as needed for events.

  • Provides incidental services related to events, such as garbage removal or cleaning.

  • May be responsible for unloading equipment or supplies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Six months experience required, one year experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) preferred. The ability to perform heavy lifting and stooping; the ability to use a variety of equipment; a commitment to providing excellent customer service; and a valid driver’s license also required. Experience may be in custodial or grounds maintenance depending upon area of assignment.
